The Songkeeper’s Path
Foundations Cohort – June 2025

A 4-week journey into the sacred arts of rhythm, voice, and prayer.
This is the first official circle of The Songkeeper’s Path — an ongoing journey of study and remembrance, where song is honored as medicine, and each voice is a vessel for devotion.
What We’ll Explore:
This cohort is for those at the beginning of their journey — those who feel the quiet call to reconnect with their voice, with sacred instruments, and with the deep listening that lives at the heart of prayerful sound.

Over 4 weeks, we will:
Learn to hold rhythm with rattle and drum
Gently open and explore the voice as a sacred instrument
Sing from a living songbook, honoring the origins and meaning of each prayer
Deepen connection to land, elements, and spirit through music
Practice sharing voice and rhythm in a held and supportive group.
This is not a performance class — it is a devotional circle of remembrance and opening.

“This path has changed me — softened me, empowered me, and reminded me that singing is one of the oldest ways we remember who we are. I offer this space in service to those ready to begin.”
-
This offering is for anyone at the beginning of their journey with voice, drum, or rattle. It’s for those who feel called to reconnect with music as medicine, and who wish to explore song as a sacred practice — even (especially!) if they’ve been afraid to sing.
-
No prior experience is needed. This circle is specifically designed for beginners or those returning to these practices with a humble, open heart.
-
You’re not alone — this is one of the most common fears, and this space is designed with deep care for exactly that. You will never be forced to perform. We move gently, and each voice is honored at its own pace.
That being said, you are being invited into the sacred calling of sharing and leading songs. This is a safe and supportive space to begin exploring that edge. Your learning becomes more deeply anchored — and new layers of growth and healing emerge — when you take the courageous leap to share your voice with others.
-
This circle is limited to 8 participants to ensure a held and intimate space for exploration and growth.
-
I'm here to walk beside you—wherever your path leads—into the depths of voice, rhythm, and devotional practice.
Private 1:1 sessions are offered in 60- or 90-minute formats, providing focused support in vocal expression, musical grounding, personal practice, and the subtle arts of presence and prayer.
Please reach out to Ala for additional information and pricing at 2teotl.altar@gmail.com
-
You’ll need a rattle or drum (or both, if available). If you don’t have one yet, we’ll offer simple suggestions for how to make or find one. Nothing fancy required.
-
We meet once a week for 1 hour (Tuesdays at 8:00–9:00pm ET) for 4 weeks. Optional 1:1 sessions are available separately.
-
Yes, each session will be recorded and shared privately with participants so you can revisit the material or catch up if you need to miss a week.
That said, live attendance is strongly encouraged, as this is a communal learning container. Those who are able to fully participate (unless otherwise discussed with Ala) will be given priority in upcoming series. We rely on shared presence to cultivate the full depth and medicine of this work.
-
The full 4-week Foundations Cohort is offered at a flat rate of $250.
This includes all live sessions, access to session recordings, and group resources.
Payment is required at the time of registration to reserve your space. If you have questions or need support around payment, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at 2teotl.altar@gmail.com
